Tuscon, Ariz., native Alexandria Monteverde, 28, said she heard the Clarendon County area was underserved in the healthcare industry, and she wanted to come to a place where she could learn hands-on medicine. One of 10 students from the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine that will be studying at Clarendon Memorial Hospital for the next few years, she says the people in Clarendon County have been "very friendly."
