Clarendon County Coroner Hayes Samuels has confirmed the identity of a man whose body was found Saturday afternoon face-down in a ditch on Bloomville Road.
The body of Al Hixson, 46, is currently in Charleston at the Medical University of South Carolina undergoing autopsy. Samuels said he expects a preliminary report today.
He said the man's family lives in Ohio, and they reported him missing there on April 29. He had been living in Manning for an unspecified amount of time, but had not had contact with his family since then.
