A backyard storage building behind one of Turbeville's oldest homes and a nearby fiberglass structure were destroyed by fire Monday afternoon by a brush fire, according to Clarendon Chief Frances Richbourg. The home is at the corner of Gamble and Smith streets in Turbeville and was built by Dr. Charlton E. Gamble in 1911. He lived there with his wife, Marion Hicks Gamble.
