Katiuska Isabel Soffera, known by her fellow Clarendon County Adult Education students as "Kathy," was one of the program's 41 graduates recognized during a ceremony held Thursday night at the F.E. DuBose Center in Manning. A native of the Dominican Republic, Soffera also earned her U.S. citizenship recently, and was pinned by Beverly Felder during Thursday's ceremony.
She said that she is grateful to her family, her Adult Education teachers and her fellow students.
"I want to congratulate my fellow students," she said. "An education is something no one can take from you."
