A 49-year-old Summerton man was charged March 14 with third-degree criminal sexual conduct after a 63-year-old woman told the Clarendon County Sheriff's Office that she believes the man fondled her 7-year-old granddaughter in her chest area between July and December 2013. Jimmy Lee Sees Jr. of 1233 Rugby Ave. in Summerton was granted a $25,000 surety or cash bond by Magistrate June Briggs on the day of his arrest. He remains detained at the Clarendon County Detention Center as of Sunday, according to the Clarendon County Public Court Index.
A report sent to The Manning Times from the Sheriff's Office on Friday says the child told her grandmother she did not mind staying over at the man's home during the day, but that she was "adamant about staying overnight." The girl allegedly stayed overnight in July, upon which the suspect is accused of lying down beside the child and reaching into her blouse or undershirt area and "inappropriately touching her breast area," according to reports.
Sees faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted. He is innocent until proven guilty in Clarendon General Sessions Court.
