SILVER – Junious Conyers, widower of Louise Smith Conyers, died Friday, Feb. 14, 2014, at his home.

Born Dec. 19, 1919, in Clarendon County, he was a son of the late David and Rosena Amos Conyers.

Survivors include a daughter, Barbara (Calvin) York of the home; four sons, Willie (Rosa) Smith of Manning, Daniel (Autherine) Conyers of Columbia, and Joseph (the Rev. Linda) Conyers and Samuel Conyers, both of Silver; two daughters-in-law, Barbara Conyers of Sumter and Deborah Conyers of Columbia; a sister-in-law, Lillie Mae Pearson of Baltimore, Md.; a special nephew, the Rev. Nate (Annie) Brock of Sumter; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A service of remembrance was held Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at Chapel AME Church, 1257 McLeod Road in Paxville, where the Rev. Roberta C. Montgomery brought words of comfort. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
