The Rev. Julia Fordham Brunson

The Rev. Julia Fordham Brunson, 94, widow of John “Son” Brunson, died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014, at Clarendon Memorial Hospital in Manning.
Born April 3, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Briggs Fordham. She attended Clarendon County public schools. She was a lifelong member of Mount Calvary Fire Baptized Holiness Church,, where she served as the assistant pastor, Sunday school superintendent, deaconess,  missionary warrior, chairman of the finance board, pastor aid board, treasurer of the sick committee, trustee board member and church mother. Survivors include six grandchildren, Carolyn (Curtis) Sherod and Wandalyn Stokes of Anderson; Everette (Rose) Stokes, Sen. Kevin L. (Gloria) Johnson and Derek (Hester) Johnson, all of Manning, and Larry (Debra) Johnson of Thomasville, N.C. Celebratory services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, 105 Dinkins St. in Manning, with the Rev. George P. Windley Sr., pastor, presiding. The Rev. Dr. Cornelius Alexander, pastor of Mt. Calvary Fire Baptized Holiness Church, will deliver the eulogy. The Revs. Dennis Jeffcoat, Susan Wilson, Michael Richburg and Carolyn Bennett will assist. Burial will be held in Manning Cemetery. The Rev. Brunson will be in repose one hour prior to services.
 
The family will receive friends at the home of her grandson and his wife, Sen. Kevin and Gloria Johnson, 420 Drayton St. in Manning.
