The South Carolina General Assembly has elected a Clarendon County native to the bench for Family Court in the 13th Judicial Circuit.
Tarita A. Dunbar, now a resident of Greenville and a graduate of Manning High School, received 96 votes to challenger Katherine Hall Tiffany's 72 to win her bit for Seat 5 in the 13th Circuit.
"I was happy to see another African-American elected to the circuit court," said Sen. Kevin Johnson, D-Manning. "Dunbar is from Clarendon County, and she and I are both graduates of Manning High School. She will do a great job in her role as a Family Court judge for the 13th Circuit."
