William B. Wright, 69, died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2022, his death was unexpected.
Born Aug. 24, 1952, in Huntingdon PA, he was the son of the late Robert E. and Cordy Wright.
He is survived by his sister Barbara Morris and husband, Tony, of Manning SC, nephew Chris Wright and wife Staci of Manning SC, niece Erica Boonie and husband Troy of Petersburg PA, nephew McKenzie Miller and partner Rachel of Huntingdon PA, nephew Greg Morris and partner Regina of Gulfport MS, niece Kristine Sakamoto and husband Mark of Rockland CA, and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert “Bobby” Wright, Feb. 23, 1999.
Bill was a 1970 graduate of Huntingdon Area High School and a 1975 graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania where he earned a degree in Geology. He was employed at W. Wright Engineering and Geology Consulting, Donegal PA, Killiam Geology & Consulting, Indiana PA, and Moody Geology & Consulting, Washington PA. He retired in 2017.
Bill will be remembered forever in the hearts and memories of his large circle of friends and family, particularly Tina Christian Swetnam, who became both to Bill. “There are friends, there is family, and there are friends that become family.”
He enjoyed hiking and being the family handyman. He was a member of the Palmetto Chapter of ABATE and loved spending his free time riding his motorcycle.
There will a Celebration of Life for him on January 29, 2022, at the Morris home, 1324 Mosstree Court, Manning SC. There will be a celebration in Pennsylvania at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Huntingdon County PRIDE, 1301 Mt. Vernon Ave, Huntingdon PA 16652.
