On Mar. 5, 2023, John Allen Welch, Jr. of Turbeville was arrested on two counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor (2nd Degree).
The jury trial began on Mar. 21 with closing arguments taking place on Mar. 22. After the jury deliberated, Welch was found guilty of the charges and sentenced to 16 years in prison.
