Thommie Ruth Jackson, 67, died Thursday, May 23, 2024, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital in Sumter.
Born August 4, 1956, in Sumter, she was the daughter of the late Herman Delano Jackson and Bettie Bartlette Jackson.
Miss Jackson was a member of The Presbyterian Church at Manning, where she served as Organist and Choir Director for over 30 years. She earned her master’s degree in Organ and Music from the University of Mississippi, and was a retired paralegal with Nexsen, Pruet Jacobs and Pollard law firm.
She is survived by two sisters, Lynn Bartlette Jackson, and Rhonda Yvonne Jackson; a special aunt and uncle Virginia and Billy Davis; another special aunt, Mary Jennings; and several close cousins.
A celebration of life service will be held 11A.M. Wednesday, at The Presbyterian Church at Manning with the Rev. Dr. Jay Hammett and Judge Tommy Cooper officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. Tuesday, at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home, and other times at the home of Phyllis and Herbert Williams, 2201 Kolb Road.
