The varsity girls basketball team welcomed the Crusaders of Northside Christian Academy last night. The Swampcats are coming off of a three game losing streak to start the new year. The Crusaders won their last matchup in the St Johns New Year Tournament against Hanahan by a final score of 49-46.
Katherine Burns was the Swampcats highest scorer and seemed to be on a mission all night. Fellow teammates Madison Truett and Breanna Boykin both contributed with 8 points of their own.
Northside was lead by Natalie Walke who dropped 13 points while her Senior teammate Kandace Letton had 7.
When the final horn blew, the score was LMA 40 and NCA 27. Not only did the lady Swampcats get the win, they ended their three game losing streak.
This upcoming Friday, LMA will play host to the Trinity-Byrnes Titans who are 7-2 on the season.
