East Clarendon High School
East Clarendon lost against Atlantic Collegiate Academy last Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Wolverines lost 8-0 to the Armada. East Clarendon just can’t catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.
East Clarendon’s defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Atlantic Collegiate Academy, they pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Clarendon will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won’t be playing again for a while. They’ll take on Marion at 6:00 p.m. on the 29th. As for Atlantic Collegiate Academy, they will venture away from home to square off against Legion Collegiate Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Manning High School
Manning was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Marion Swamp Foxes. Unfortunately, that’s the second time they’ve come up short against Marion this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-0 on Tuesday.
Manning’s defeat dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Marion, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-14.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Manning will welcome Calhoun County at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Manning are facing Calhoun County at the right time seeing as Calhoun County are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Marion, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Andrews at 6:00 p.m. on the 28th.

Laurence Manning Academy
Laurence Manning Academy came tearing into Wednesday’s match with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Calhoun Academy Cavaliers a 6-0 shutout. Considering the Swampcats have won three contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday’s blowout was nothing new.
Laurence Manning Academy pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average this season. As for Calhoun Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 17-8.
Laurence Manning Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Calhoun Academy, they will face off against King’s Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
East Clarendon High School
East Clarendon fell victim to West Florence and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 12-0 to the Knights. The Wolverines haven’t had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they’ve met.
East Clarendon’s loss dropped their record down to 13-6. As for West Florence, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-4.
Looking ahead, East Clarendon will face off against Tyler at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for West Florence, they will challenge Andrew Jackson at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Manning High School
After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last five contests, Manning finally came back down to earth on Thursday. They came up short against the Mountain View Prep Stars, falling 17-2. The Monarchs’ loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Manning now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Mountain View Prep, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-7.
Manning has already played their next matchup (against Laurence Manning Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Mountain View Prep, they also didn’t take long to hit the field again: they’ve already played their next game, a 7-1 defeat against Woodruff on the 14th.
VARSITY SOFTBALL
Clarendon Hall
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clarendon Hall). They blew past the Thomas Sumter Academy Generals 16-2 on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team’s high-flying offense, the game also marked the team’s biggest victory of the season.
Brynli Brewer was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and not a single walk). Those six strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was even better at the plate, firing off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 2-for-3. Those home runs marked the first that she launched this season.
In other batting news, Clarendon Hall got a massive performance out of Mandy Wells, who fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-3. That’s the most RBI Wells has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Maggie Harrington, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
Clarendon Hall always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. That’s the best OBP they’ve posted all season.
Clarendon Hall has been performing well recently as they’ve won five of their last six contests. That’s provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Thomas Sumter Academy, they dropped their record down to 2-11 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.
