SCGOP holds hybrid Convention

The South Carolina GOP held it's hybrid Convention on Saturday, May 15, 2021. The Clarendon County Republican Party's delegates & alternates met at Cornerstone Fellowship Church in Manning while livestreaming the Convention from Columbia. Ms. Cindy Risher, State 1st Vice-Chair & Clarendon GOP Executive Committeewoman, served on the state credentials committee and as a CCRP delegate at Convention headquarters.

Moye Graham, CCRP Chair, reported that the meeting started at 11AM and was attended by 7 delegates and 2 alternates. Votes were cast at separate county locations and called in to State Convention headquarters in Columbia.

Incumbent Drew McKissick was re-elected to his position as SCGOP Chair. Clarendon's Cindy Risher was re-elected to her position as SCGOP 1st Vice-Chair. Kizzie Smalls of the Richland County GOP was elected as 2nd Vice-Chair, and Leighton Gray Smith of Charleston County GOP will serve as 3rd Vice-Chair.

According to Graham, "This was a tough election State Wide but Conservative Republicans came together to elect a strong team from all 46 SC counties. I feel we have the strongest leadership in America at this moment. The Clarendon County party will benefit greatly from what took place Saturday."
