Joseph “Joe” Kloiber, IT Services Delivery Director at Provalus, was the featured guest speaker at the Oct. 23 Manning Rotary Club meeting at Porter Jack’s. Established in 2017, Provalus is a 100% U.S.-based outsourcing organization dedicated to bringing technology and customer support jobs to rural communities across America. The company’s focus on communities with high veteran populations enables them to make a significant impact locally, while also providing Fortune 500 clients with dependable, U.S.-based support services.
Kloiber, a retired U.S. Army officer with more than 25 years of experience in IT leadership, offered Rotary members a closer look at Provalus’ mission and operations. He described the Manning location’s remarkable growth, from an initial team of just a dozen employees to its current count of 77, with plans to continue expanding. “Our mission is to re-skill veterans and up-skill under-employed women and men in these communities with jobs that provide Fortune-listed companies the dependable, quality, and practical services they need ... straight from the heart of America,” Kloiber shared, underscoring Provalus’ commitment to both community and client satisfaction.
Provalus provides a range of services, including IT Service Desk support, cybersecurity, customer experience, and data analytics. Kloiber explained that many employees come into the organization without previous IT experience, but the company offers robust training and development to ensure each employee is equipped to succeed. “We don’t need you to be IT savvy,” he said, highlighting Provalus’ emphasis on skill-building and professional growth.
Once hired, new employees go through about three weeks of intensive training, with additional development tailored to the specific needs of their roles and the clients they serve. Employees are also encouraged to pursue industry certifications, which Provalus financially supports. Kloiber emphasized that certifications provide opportunities for career advancement in IT, allowing employees to access high-paying roles even without a college degree.
Provalus also takes a vested interest in the local community, engaging in initiatives that extend beyond the workplace. The company actively partners with local schools to offer internships and support STEM programs, exposing students to technology and career pathways. Through the TGB Foundation, Provalus funds robotics and STEM camps for local children, helping spark early interest in technology fields. “Our team regularly volunteers and dedicates a variety of resources for the good of the community,” Kloiber noted.
In addition to training and career support, Kloiber shared that Provalus invests in a positive work environment. He emphasized that Provalus is committed to fostering a professional yet comfortable workplace, where employees can focus on learning and growing. “I tell everybody, when you come in, leave your crazy out in the car … we don’t start with that,” he said, adding that the company maintains high standards for behavior and teamwork.
Kloiber also shared some of the successes he has witnessed among Provalus employees, including those who joined with little to no IT experience and have since advanced through certification programs, significantly increasing their earning potential. “It’s amazing to watch them grow,” Kloiber said. Many employees who start in entry-level roles quickly adapt.
Looking ahead, Kloiber anticipates further expansion of the Manning location. The team is approaching the 100-employee mark, a milestone that will likely be reached with the addition of new clients.
Kloiber encouraged Rotary members to stop by Provalus’ Manning facility, saying, “Come by one time. It’s amazing to see.” Through its dedication to both workforce development and economic revitalization, Provalus is shaping a promising future for Clarendon County and beyond.
