Nancy “Dale" McLeod Barrett, 69, wife of Benjamin “Benny” Barrett, died Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at McLeod Regional Medical Center of the Pee Dee in Florence.
Born December 30, 1952, in Sumter, she was a daughter of Oree Boykin McLeod and the late Matthew I. McLeod, Sr. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church where she served faithfully for many years. She was a loving and devoted grandmother.
Survivors in addition to her loving husband of 50 years, and her mother, include two children, Michael Dale Barrett (Jennifer) of Sumter, and Amanda Barrett Ridgeway (Jamie) of Manning; five grandchildren, Michael “Tyler” Barrett (Fran), Hannah Ridgeway, Reagan Barrett, J. Benjamin Ridgeway, and Carlie Barrett; one sister, Janice Rearden (Jack) of Sumter; one brother, Matthew “Mac” McLeod, Jr. (Buffie) of Sumter; a beloved sister-in-law, Anne McNair (Gibby) of Sumter; and a number of dearly loved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Cammie Grace Ridgeway and Baby Girl Ridgeway.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethel Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. Chris Moore and the Rev. Austin Hilbish. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Barrett, Matthew “Mac” McLeod, Jr., Trey McLeod, Gibby McNair, Shawn Rearden, and Benjamin Ridgeway.
Honorary pallbearers will be Judy Aycock, Dianne Condrey, Pam Geddings, Joseph McIntosh, Ann Prescott, and Brenda Vaughn.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethel Baptist Church and other times at the home.
