Martha Sue Pike Swarthout, 80, widow of Wesley Lee Swarthout, died Friday, January 10, 2020, at McLeod Hospice House.
Born May 29, 1939, in Shirley, Indiana, she was a daughter of the late Cecil Joseph Pike and the late Verna Louise Jessup Pike. She was a member of Northside Christian Church in Fruitland Park, Florida.
She is survived by four children, Cynthia Ann Myers Henley (Rick) of Greenfield, Indiana, Richard Lee Myers (Jeannie) of Latta, Kathleen Sue Myers Millis (Burk) of Carthage, Indiana and Rodney Neal Myers of Cades; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; a sister, Mary Lu Wood (Allen) of Palo Alto, California; and lifetime friend, Laura Rhodes.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Rita Kay Myers Bennett; a son, Roger Myers; a brother, Richard Marvin Pike; and her second husband, Richard Renfro.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, January 12, 2020, in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home with Chaplain Glenn Carter officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 3 to 4 p.m. at Stephens Funeral Home.
The family would like to thank McLeod Hospice, Melanie, Becca, Barry, Glenn, and God’s Angels, Pat and Virginia, and her many caretakers, neighbors and friends.
