The Clarendon County Sheriff’s office responded on March 6 to a woman on the 1900 block of Clubhouse Road in Summerton claiming that she had discovered a fake smoke alarm containing a security camera in her home.
After further investigation, deputies determined that there was, in fact, a small digital camera housed in the smoke detector.
After discovering that her neighbor Austin Edwin Floyd, 78, installed the security camera, he was arrested and charged with 1st-degree-burglary and voyeurism.
Further investigation is ongoing.
