Local Teacher re-brands; becomes florist after hours

Posted

“The name was pretty simple, and the hours were set around my school schedule, and if people ask me where I was going to be, it would be at the Flower Shoppe,” stated special education teacher Tracy Weeks. She is currently the new owner of a local Flower Shoppe here in Manning, formerly known as Flower’s De Linda. Like most flower shops, Mrs. Weeks’ shop offers a different variety of flowers to choose from. People often choose a flower based on the scent, like roses. Flowers often help people by relaxing their atmosphere and improving their mood. The Flower Shoppe is a full-service flower shop, which means they will assist you with anything you need that requires flowers and decorating.

“This is my first business venture,” stated Weeks. “This shop was a flower shop before I bought it called Flowers De Linda’s. The prior owner, Linda, was in business for 34 years before she retired,”

After noticing the for-sale sign outside of the shop, she decided to talk with her husband, family, and some friends at school regarding the shop. Mrs. Weeks thought it would be a good idea to create a full-service shop that also offers services for weddings, funerals, and corporate meetings, etc. Right now, they are offering flower square vases as gifts for Fall.

As a special education teacher, Mrs. Weeks gets to enjoy the Flower Shoppe every day after school, and on days they don’t have school.

“I have five more years before I can retire from education, and this is kind of my retirement plan,” stated Mrs. Week.

She has been fully committed and dedicated to her job as an educator for over 23 years. The shop has also coexisted with Ms. Linda’s traditional ways of excellence and beautiful flowers. “Be patience, remember to follow your dreams, dream big, and do it even if you are afraid” is the Flower Shoppe motto.

The Flower Shoppe business hours are Monday through Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, and Saturdays from 9 am to 12 noon. You can also contact Mrs. Weeks through email at theflowershoppe2020@gmail.com.
