LMA JV baseball team moves to 15-0 on the season

Laurence Manning Academy Swampcats JV baseball snatched the lead late in the game in a 14-4 victory over Florence Christian on Friday to improve their record to 15-0. The game was tied at four with LMA batting in the top of the fifth when Bryson Hodge drew a walk, scoring one run. LMA earned the victory despite allowing Florence Christian to score three runs in the second inning. Florence Christian's big inning was driven by a walk by Bailey and a double by Windham. In the top of the fourth inning, Laurence Manning Academy Swamp cats JV tied things up at four. Laurence Manning Academy Swamp cats JV scored one run when Wynn Brogdon doubled. LMA notched eight runs in the sixth inning. The big bats were led by Bryson Smith, Joe Wilson, Clayton Baker, Brogdon, and Ian Harris, who all drove in runs. Chappel Brogdon was on the hill for the Swampcats. Brogdon lasted one and one-third innings, allowing one hit and four runs while striking out two. McLauchlin led things off on the mound for Florence Christian. The hurler allowed five hits and four runs over four innings, striking out three. Bailey and Windham entered the game from the bullpen, throwing one and two-thirds innings and one-third of an inning respectively. LMA racked up 15 hits. Brogdon, Wilson, Smith,Clayton Baker, Cameron Baker, and Layne Bowen all managed multiple hits. Wynn Brogdon led LMA with three hits in four at bats. LMA tore up the base paths, as six players stole at least two bases. Baker led the way with four. LMA will host Cardinal Newman at home on Wednesday at 4.
