On Tuesday, Apr. 3, 2023, School Resource Officers at Manning High School requested additional assistance in reference to a large fight involving parents and students at the school. Responding units from the Clarendon County Sheriff's Office and Manning Police Department arrived at Manning High School and assisted SROs in detaining all individuals involved.
As a result of the investigation, it was determined that a prior fight between two juveniles proptmed parents to arrive at Manning High School. Before SROs and School Administration could address the incident with the juveniles, parents began engaging in a physical altercation in the main lobby of the school's front office. During this brawl, students and parents had to be separated and detained and removed from the school.
In addition to this large fight, two additional fights involving juveniles occured at Manning High School, the juveniles were separated and transported to the Clarendon County Detention Center where they were processed:
5 juveniles were petitioned to Family Court through the Department of Juvenile Justice for Assault 3rd. This inncident was handled by the Clarendon County Sheriff's Office, Manning Police Department, and Clarendon County School District
