Historic Camden Foundation to offer pre-apprentice masonry program to Clarendon, Kershaw, Lee, and Sumter County

Starting September 21st, 2020 Historic Camden will begin a pre-apprentice masonry program using their new 18th century Brickyard and Pottworks as a teaching platform. The program is in partnership with Santee–Lynches Regional Council of Government and is free to residents of Clarendon, Kershaw, Lee and Sumter counties who qualify for WIOA educational funding administered by SC Works, Santee-Lynches

The program provides the training and certifications needed to earn a living wage working on industrial jobsites working for large national and international refractory contractors. Our hiring partners are actively seeking reliable, certified and licensed specialized masonry laborers and are willing to hire our graduates at a living wage, with lots of overtime pay opportunity and ample advancement possibilities.

To enter the training program, you must meet the following criteria: Be over 18 years of age, be able to physically handle the work and have basic math skills. A high school education or GED is preferred but not necessary.
