Police officers were lead on a high speed chase this morning into downtown Manning. According to police, a Summerton police officer attempted to make a traffic stop on a black Dodge sedan occupied by two people driving recklessly on I-95 near the Summerton exit.  The driver sped off with the officer in pursuit, continuing north and  left the interstate at the 119 exit onto Hwy 261. As he sped through town, the driver struck a pickup truck at the intersection of S. Boyce Street and W. Boyce Street. He then struck a small black car which disabled the Dodge.  Both the driver and passenger fled on foot from the collision, but were apprehended shortly after by Manning City police officers.  All persons involved were transported to McLeod Clarendon Hospital to be treated for their injuries. SC Highway Patrol is investigating the collision.
