High speed chase comes into Manning from Lake Marion

The Clarendon County Sheriff's Office deputies were involved in a vehicle chase last evening resulting in a traffic stop on Brooks Street in the City of Manning. Deputies had been searching for 35-year-old Brian Christopher Brown, residing in Clarendon County, in reference to an outstanding warrant. Brown was observed driving on Hwy. 260 heading toward the City of Manning. At this time, a traffic stop was initiated. Brown failed to stop for a blue light which resulted in a vehicle chase. During the chase, deputies maintaned traffic and road conditions. Brown was exceeding the posted speed limit in an attempt to evade arrest. The City of Manning Police Department and the South Carolina Highway Patrol assisted in the chase once Brown entered into the City of Manning. The South Carolina Highway Patrol successfully deployed stop sticks near the intersection of Mill Street and Sunset Drive. Brown continued onto Brooks Street where the chase ended at Brooks Street and Boyce Street. Brown was taken into custody without further incident.
