Review: This movie is action-packed. The first fifteen minutes or so is the setup, but when Black Adam appears on the screen, he is a muscled-up mass of destruction. He has the strength, speed, endurance, power, stamina, and knowledge of all the Egyptian gods, and he has no conscience. He is beyond angry at how his son and his people were treated by their evil and corrupt king. When he says the magic word “SHAZAM” he is transformed into one of the most powerful beings in existence.

In his mortal form, he is “Teth Adam,” but after seeing his son and wife killed in front of him, his heart grew dark and he is now called Black Adam. This movie cost $195 million to make and it looks as if all of it was spent on special effects. The cinematography for this film is good and when he uses his powers and strengths, it looks awesome. The good guys (JLA/Justice League of America) are sent to try and cpature Black Adam, but they are outmatched. The leader of the JSA is Hawkman, and he along with three other members are sent on the mission to capture Black Adam. Dr. Fate is the mystical one of the group and he has incredible magical powers, which includes the power to see the future. Atom Smasher (he can grow and increase his mass and strength) and Cyclone (he can fly and control the wind) make up the rest of the quartet of superheroes sent on the mission.

The plot to this movie is simple: the bad guy is given powers and he does what he wants with those powers. He is judge, jury, and executioner to anyone who tries to stop him. As the movie progresses, you will see Black Adam change, but he is still heavy-handed at times with dishing out his brand of justice. This movie is just over 2 hours long, which is just the right amount of time for it. In classic comic movie fashion, there is an end scene credit, and it is definitely a fan favorite. The end scene credit sets up a confrontation that fans will for sure want to see.

Rating: This is for sure a guy movie, but female fans of “The Rock” Johnson will definitely want to smell what he’s cooking as Black Adam, should they see it. I give this movie a 7.5 out of 10.
