S.C. Highway Patrol is looking into a fatal collision that occurred around 2:05 am Friday morning. The crash occurred near Mallett Road near Highway 521.
A Jeep Liberty SUV collided with a Peterbilt tractor trailer after crossing the center line on 521 heading south. Two people were inside the Jeep.
The driver of the Jeep, Drema Durham, was taken to McLeod Health Clarendon, and the passenger died on the scene. It is unclear if either were wearing a seat belt.
The driver of the tractor trailer was also rushed to McLeod Health Clarendon, however, he was wearing a seat belt.
According to the SC Highway Patrol, the wreck occured sometime around 2:05 am, and Durham has been taken into custody.
According to Clarendon County Coroner, the name of the victims will not be released until the families are notified.
