Eleanor Winifred McIntosh Brunson, 96, widow of Clyde Austin Brunson, died Sunday, February 16, 2020, at her daughter’s residence.
Born August 29, 1923, in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late William Locket McIntosh and the late Minnie Lee Evans McIntosh. She was a member of the First Southern Methodist Church of Summerton. She welded on the liberty ships in Brunswick, GA during World War II and was the former manager of Agri Sales and United Bonded Warehouse Cotton Storage and Seed Processing for over 30 years.
She is survived by a daughter, Elna Clydell Gentry (Keith) of Greeleyville; a sister, Annetta Heath of Sumter; two granddaughters, Minette Gentry Hudson (Eric) of Manning and Michaela Austin Gentry Price (Dan) of Manning; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.
A graveside funeral service was held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 19, 2020, at Bethlehem United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Patrick Goodwin, officiating.
The family received friends from 10 – 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at Bethlehem United Methodist Church.
