Laurence Manning looks to rebound following loss to Hammond

In a game dominated by Hammond from the first quarter on Head Coach Will Furse looks to get back in the win column with a home game against Camden Military. “Camden Military is a new team added to the region this year; not sure what to expect in my first game coaching against them. From what I’ve seen they are a well coached team, Its going to be a battle” coach said. While the results were not what Coach Furse, and his staff wanted he has to be pleased with the way Junior Tyler June played Friday night. 7 of 14 through the air, and 80 yards on 14 touches, as well the lone score.  “Hammond is extremely well coached, and the best team we will probably play all season; we’ve got to have better execution, and have to coach better.” The team as a whole racked up 104 yards on 25 carries. Hammond scored on there first possession to go up early, and a nice drive by the Swampcats had them in range to tie the game, but a costly interception quickly put Laurence Manning in a bigger hole. Down  14 Quarterback Tyler June drove the team 70 yards. A 15 yard catch by Junior Bryson Smith, and a 15 yard unsportsman-like conduct penalty got the Swampcats into range for Junes 15 yard Touchdown run. Sadly that’s all they could do against a tough Hammond team who dominated the game with a final of 37-6.
