Charles Jackson “Bucky” Mock, Jr., 78, husband of Sharon Ann Fetzich Mock, died Monday, December 5, 2022, at his residence.
Born June 17, 1944, in Chicago, IL, he was a son of the late Charles Jackson Mock, Sr. and the late Mary Joan Oltman Mock. He was a member of The Episcopal Church where he was a member of the Mission Council. Bucky was the former Coroner for Clarendon County. He was a volunteer with the Clarendon County Fire Department and the City of Manning Fire Department and was a SCUBA Diving instructor. He was a Veteran of the National Guard. He was a member of the Emergency Nurses Association; a member of the Clarendon County Chamber of Commerce; and did missionary work in Africa. Bucky was active in the National Disaster Medical System – SC-1DMAT.
He is survived by his wife; one son, Charles (Stacey) J. Mock, III of Augusta, GA; one daughter Anita Ann (Doug) Juanouskos of Charlotte, NC; two grandchildren, Charles Jackson Mock IV of New London, CT and Sara Elizabeth Mock of Augusta, GA; one brother, Peter Mock of Virginia, MN; three sisters, Penny Mock of Portland, OR, Niki Weir of Troutdale, VA and Margot McDonnell of Eugene, OR.
A memorial service will be held 11am, Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Clarendon County Fire Rescue Headquarters (Station 1), 217 Commerce Street, Manning, SC with the Rev. David Thurlow officiating. The family will receive guest following the service.
The family request that memorials be made to the Clarendon County Fire Rescue Department, 517 Sunset Drive, Manning, SC 29102 or to the City of Manning Fire Department, 38 W. Boyce Street, Manning, SC 29102.
