The Central Carolina Technical College Foundation created a new award to formally recognize the many partnerships established between the college and the communities we serve. Central Carolina Technical College has campuses in Clarendon, Kershaw, Lee and Sumter counties with alumni in all areas of the state and the country. We are proud of the relationships we have built with businesses and organizations in these areas. The new President's Partnership Award was to be given at the Foundation's Scholarship Breakfast in March 2020, however, this event was cancelled due to the coronavirus.
A winner was chosen from each county: McLeod Health, Clarendon County; Second Look Charities, Kershaw County; Coca-Cola, Lee County; and BD, Sumter County.
McLeod Health Clarendon was chosen as the first recipient of the award from Clarendon County because of the long history of working together to educate health sciences staff including registered nurses and surgical technicians. The award was presented to Debbie Locklear, Chief Human Resources Officer; Rachel Gainey, McLeod Health Clarendon Administrator; and Kim Jolly, McLeod Health Clarendon Chief Nursing Officer at McLeod Health on August 17, 2020 by CCTC Interim President Terry Booth and Executive Director of Institutional Advancement and External Relations Misty Hatfield.
Second Look Charities was chosen as the first recipient of the award from Kershaw County. The organization provides assistance to people in the community by operating a volunteer-run thrift store. Since 2014, Second Look has given more than $70,000 in scholarship funds to the CCTC Foundation that has benefitted 54 students. The award was presented to Board Chair Claire Shell and board members at the thrift store on August 18, 2020 by CCTC Interim President Terry Booth, CCTC Vice President for Student Affairs Lisa Bracken and Executive Director of Institutional Advancement and External Relations Misty Hatfield.
South Atlantic Canners (Coca-Cola) was chosen as the first recipient of the award from Lee County. CCTC and Coca-Cola have created partnerships that involve workforce development, education and training. The award was presented to Plant Manager Troy Santoscoy and members of the Leadership Team at Coca-Cola on August 10, 2020 by CCTC Interim President Terry Booth and Executive Director of Institutional Advancement and External Relations Misty Hatfield.
Central Carolina Technical College is a comprehensive, public, two-year institution of higher education that is dedicated to fostering a positive environment of teaching and learning for faculty, staff and students.
