CCSO and MPD make arrest in Boyce Street drug bust

On Monday March 16, 2020 Officers with the Manning Police Department responded to 312 Boyce Street, to the Pull in and Pull Out Car wash, in reference to the business operating without a business license as required by Manning City Ordinance. There the Manning Police Department Officer met with the Manager/operator of the business Joshua Demond Coard. While advising Mr. Coard of the business license requirement, the officer smelled a strong odor of Marijuana coming from inside the building. The Manning Officer then requested the assistance of the Clarendon County Combined Narcotics Unit. (The Clarendon County Combined Narcotics unit is comprised of Deputies from the Clarendon County Sheriff’s Office along with Officers from the Manning Police Department.) Agents from the Clarendon County Combined Narcotics Unit (C.C.C.N.U.) responded to the scene. Narcotics Agents then secured a search warrant for the business. Agents then executed the search warrant at 312 Boyce Street (Pull in and Pull Out Car Wash). During the execution of the search warrant Agents seized approximately 38 Grams of Marijuana, 28 Grams of Crack Cocaine, 13 Grams of Cocaine and 1 .22 caliber firearm.  Joshua D. Coard was placed under arrest for Trafficking in Crack Cocaine 3rd Offense, Trafficking in Cocaine 3rd Offense, P.W.I.D. Marijuana 1st Offense, P.W.I.D. Marijuana with in ½ mile of school or park, P.W.I.D. Crack Cocaine within ½ mile of School or Park , P.W.I.D. Cocaine within ½ mile of school or park, and Felon in possession of handgun. Coard was arrested at the scene and transported to the Clarendon County Detention Center.
