Boutique owner gives back

Posted

Kelley Anne Steinman, owner of Kelley Anne’s in Santee, donated clothing and other items to a family in need last month.

During the last week of January, we reported the tragic house fire in Summerton that took a family’s home and nearly all of their belongings. Chinetta Robinson and her family were devastated at the loss of their house, which had been in their family for over 50 years. The fire department spent nearly three hours extinguishing the fire, and only a pile of clothing survived. The family of six was in need of basically everything. With Robinson and her eldest son being the only working adults in the home, they were grateful for anything the community could provide.

Steinman, who ran an ad in the paper that week, read the story and immediately began brainstorming ideas for how she could help. She then posted to her business page on Facebook, Kelley Anne’s, and asked her friends and followers to contribute what they could to their friends in need. She even went as far as offering gift certificates to her boutique to all who donated.

Steinman said, “I am so happy we were able to help Mrs. Robinson and I had the pleasure of meeting her! Told her that we would continue to collect for her and her family."
