The body of a 60-year-old Summerton man was found shortly before noon Monday in a field off M.W. Rickenbaker Road, according to the Clarendon County Sheriff's Office. Maj. Kipp Coker said the man was found by a farmer clearing the field, with his dog lying beside him. "We are unsure how long he was there, but no family had reported him missing," Coker said. "We don't expect any foul play but will await the results of an autopsy. His dog was alive beside him, so he couldn't have been out there too long." Clarendon Deputy Coroner Charles Jackson identified the man as Christopher Steven Moody. "There were no visible signs of injury," Jackson said. "We will be sending him for an autopsy Tuesday morning."
