The Monarchs were unable to take care business at home

After last weeks cancellation of Manning High’s football game, they were extra ready to play this home non-conference game against Lake City.

Manning was able to score a with passing touchdown early in the forth quarter. However, a costly penalty on the ensuing kickoff set the Panthers of Lake City up with good field position.

It wouldn’t take long for them to capitalize and take the lead on a short yardage rushing touchdown. Lake City would also add another touchdown late to bring the score to 22-13.

The Monarchs would eventually fall to that same score.

Clarendon Soil & Water Conservation District participated in the 2019 Beach/River Sweep

The youth commissioners/Earth team volunteers from the Clarendon Soil & Water Conservation District participated in the 2019 Beach Sweep/River Sweep that Sea Grant Consortium leads and the SCDNR leads the inland cleanups.

Bryson Woodard, Isabella Harris, Grayce Strickland along with District Manager, Samantha Rogers Coffey picked up numerous bags of litter from two different boat landings in Clarendon County. Everything from used medical gloves, Mylar balloons, glass bottles and clothing are just a few of items that were picked up and properly disposed of.



The Wolverines wouldn’t be stung in consecutive weeks

The East Clarendon Wolverines may have had their issues with a Blue Jacket last week, but the Yellow Jackets of Andrews couldn’t sting back

The Wolverines start Region 7-AA the right way with a big win. They are now 3-1 on the season and 1-0 in their respective region. The final score was EC 34 and Andrews 21.

East Clarendon will play host to the Mullins High Auctioneers this upcoming Friday night. Kickoff is set for 7:30pm and this will be the Wolverines second Region game.

I have always enjoyed playing Bingo.
I play a game at least a few times a day on my Kindle Fire and on my phone. I don’t gamble for real money, however. I haven’t done that type of Bingo since my late teens and early 20s when I would accompany my grandmother and her best friend, Virginia, to one of the four Bingo parlors Sumter had to offer in the late 1990s.

Harvin Clarendon County Library Children’s Author Visit

The library in Manning will be hosting an author visit this coming Saturday – September 21st – from 10:00am to 12 noon. Mr. David Gibson is a South Carolina author of the children’s book Switching Shoes. He will be at the library meeting families and signing books. The program is free to attend and copies of his book will be available for purchase at the program.
