The Wolverines head coach Will McMillan was selected as the South Carolina Baseball Coaches Association’s Class 2A coach of the year. East Clarendon moved up from 1A to 2A this season and won the Region 7-2A title. McMillan wins this award after his third season as head coach and fourth year over all at East Clarendon. McMillan’s team finished their season with a 25-5 record and for the second year in row winning the region championship. The East Clarendon Wolverines won their districts bracket and advanced to the lower state final. “Our non-region schedule for the past few years was really tough,” said McMillan. “At the end of the day, it was a good group of guys who were committed to working in the off-season and at practice. They are a key part of the award as well.” McMillan is a former Mullins Auctioneers baseball player, who graduated in 2007 where he started as one of the leading hitters and pitchers. “It was an honor to get the award,” McMillan said. “Very surprising because there are a lot of good coaches out there who are deserving.”
