The inaugural Overcomers' Walk comes to Manning

Clarendon County’s inaugural OverComers’ Walk was held last Saturday at J.C. Britton park on Raccoon Road. Presented by the Clarendon County Sheriff's Office and Clarendon County Cancer OverComers Council, the walk is to celebrate those who have fought and survived cancer. The walk also collects funds for those who are still battling with cancer. “The funds we collect at the event will go directly to the Clarendon County OverComers Council, and if anyone who is currently battling cancer needs transportation to treatment or needs help picking up their medications, these funds will help them,” said Annett Smith, event coordinator. “All they would need to do is submit an application to the council for approval.” Food was served at the gazebo by numerous vendors, such as nachos, barbecue chicken, and hotdogs. Music was provided by D.J. Tad Graham. For more information on how to help this cause, please call Annett Smith at (803) 460-3976.
