Big third inning propels Laurence Manning Academy Swampcats win Over Ben Lippen

GAME ONE - SCISA 3A STATE SOFTBALL PLAYOFFS Five runs in the third inning led Laurence Manning Academy Varsity Softball past Ben Lippen 7-1 Friday. The Swampcats offense in the inning came from singles by Mckenzie Truett and Trinity Harrington, an error on a ball put in play by Bailey Moore, and a double by RandiLynn Holcombe. Harrington took the win for LMA. She lasted seven innings, allowing five hits and one run while striking out six and walking one. Reagan Cox took the loss for Ben Lippen. She lasted six innings, allowing ten hits and seven runs. LMA tallied ten hits on the day. Holcombe, Liz Hussey, and Madison Truett all managed multiple hits for LMA. Truett, Hussey, and Holcombe each managed two hits to lead the Swampcats. Alyssa Craft led Ben Lippen with two hits in four at bats.
