Clarendon County council to discuss water/sewer rate increase

Posted
According to Clarendon County Administrator David Epperson, Clarendon County initiated the water/sewer service to its residents almost 10 years ago. Since inception, the rates have remained unchanged. But the operating costs have continued to increase. Based on the inflation of costs, staff recommended that the rates be increased. The first reading of an ordinance was read at the April county council meeting. The second reading and public hearing will be at the May county council meeting.  If approved, the third reading will be at the June meeting. For more information on the proposed schedule, see the May 9 edition of the Manning Times.
