Despite strong fight, Clarendon Hall can't top Richard Winn Academy

  The Clarendon Hall Varsity baseball fought back after falling down by five runs in the first inning. The comeback fell just short though, in a 6-5 defeat to Richard Winn Academy Thursday. Clarendon Hall tallied five runs in the failed comeback. TJ Curlee, Wells Robinson, and Jon Mcintosh fueled the rally with RBIs. The Saints couldn't keep up with Richard Winn Academy early in the game. Richard Winn Academy scored on an error during Brandon Miller's at bat, a double by Zack Taylor, a single by Cam Bass, and a home run by Austin Lancaster in the first inning. Richard Winn Academy got things moving in the first inning, when an error scored one run. Clarendon Hall scored three runs in the fourth inning. The Saints hitters contributing to the big inning included Robinson and Mcintosh, all driving in runs in the inning. Dru Caldwell led things off on the hill for Richard Winn Academy. He lasted four innings, allowing six hits and five runs while striking out seven. Curlee toed the rubber for Clarendon Hall. He lasted one-third of an inning, allowing three hits and five runs while walking zero. Lowden Olsen and Blaine Kennardentered the game as relief, throwing three and two-thirds innings and two innings respectively. Clarendon Hall was able to hit one home run. Curlee put one out in the third inning. Kennard went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Saints in hits. Hudson Wade led Richard Winn Academy with two hits in three at bats.
