LMA Varsity Grabs Lead In Sixth Inning For Victory Over Augusta Christian

LMA Varsity baseball took the lead late in the game in a 10-5 victory over Augusta Christian Tuesday. The game was tied at five with LMA batting in the top of the sixth when Jordan Heath's wild pitch allowed one run to score for LMA. Augusta Christian scored three runs in the first inning, but LMA still managed to pull out the victory. The big inning for Augusta Christian came thanks to a single by David Fulcher and a double by Brandon Bowen. Augusta Christian took an early lead in the first inning when Bowen doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs. LMA knotted the game up at five in the top of the fifth inning. Aaron Carlton drove in one when he doubled. Buddy Gales pitched LMA to victory. He lasted one inning, allowing five hits and four runs while walking one. Carlton and Jake Jordan entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Carlton recorded the last 15 outs to earn the save for LMA. Heath took the loss for Augusta Christian. He allowed eight hits and ten runs over five and two-thirds innings, striking out four. LMA launched one home run on the day. JT Stanley went yard in the fourth inning. LMA totaled ten hits in the game. Jordan, Stanley, and Burgess Jordan each had multiple hits for LMA. Jordan went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead LMA in hits. Jordan also led the team with four stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with 12 stolen bases. LMA was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Seth Stampsmade the most plays with six. Augusta Christian tallied ten hits on the day. Fulcher, Heath, and Harrison Booker each racked up multiple hits for Augusta Christian.
