LMA Varsity Clinches Lead in Fifth Inning to Defeat Augusta Christian

LMA Varsity Baseball snagged a late lead and defeated Augusta Christian 4-3 Monday. Augusta Christian opened up scoring in the first inning.  An error scored two runs for Augusta Christian. LMA was able to knot the game up at two in the bottom of the third inning.  Andrew Boyd grounded out, scoring one run. Boyd was the winning pitcher for LMA. He surrendered three runs on four hits over six innings, striking out eight.  Jake Jordan threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Brett Zerbel toed the rubber for Augusta Christian. He went two and two-thirds innings, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out two.  Sam Massey threw three and a third innings out of the bullpen. Aaron Carlton led LMA Swampcats with two hits in three at bats.  LMA Varsity stole seven bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Brewer Brunson led the way with three. Augusta Christian collected five hits on the day.  Harrison Booker and Jordan Heath each collected multiple hits for Augusta Christian.  Augusta Christian was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. M. Corley made the most plays with  six.
