Seven men were willing to help children this year through their participation in the Puddin' Swamp Festival Miss Swamp Bottom Pageant.

Amber Alert came out the winner in the competition, which was held Saturday in downtown Turbeville as part of the 12th edition of the annual festival.

They aren't just helping the Shriners raise money for children, but they are bringing in extra spectators that also visit our food and craft vendors," said Puddin' Swamp Festival Committee Chairwoman Jenna Reynolds Windham. "We appreciate them joining us and helping us make the afternoon a success."

Windham said the men raised $1,000 in 20 minutes.

Six-year-old Lizzie Parnell helped crown the new Miss Swamp Bottom. The little girl has been directly helped by the Shriners' efforts.

Superlatives included Classy Sassy winning Best Legs; Feisty La'More winning Best Hair; and Nada Chance winning Sassiest.
