Helen Powell received top honors in the Individual-Group Category the 12th annual Puddin' Swamp Festival Downtown Turbeville Lamp Post Decorating Contest. Puddin' Swamp Festival Committee Chairwoman Jenna Reynolds Windham said that the community and other organizers could not "thank our participants enough for (their) community spirit and hard work. These were absolutely beautiful and have lent themselves so perfectly to the festival atmosphere We are so grateful."
Powell, ,who is married to Sheriff Tim Baxley, decorated one of the downtown lamp poss with items pertaining to law enforcement and both her and the town's appreciation of their local and county officers.
