  Maddie Newsome didn't allow a single run against Carvers Bay, throwing a complete game shutout and leading the East Clarendon Wolverines Varsity softball team to a 2-0 victory on Thursday The pitching was strong on both sides. Newsome struck out six, while the Bears pitcher sat down two. One bright spot for Carvers Bay was a single in the second inning. Newsome was in the pitcher's circle for the Wolverines. She allowed four hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out six and walking one. Carvers Bay starting pitcher allowed two hits and two runs over four innings, striking out two and walking zero. Elly Floyd and Hannah Hickman each collected one hit to lead East Clarendon. East Clarendon was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Zoe McElveen made the most plays with seven.
