Early Lead For Waccamaw Seals Fate For Manning Monarchs Baseball

Manning Monarchs Varsity fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 14-2 loss to Waccamaw on Monday. Waccamaw scored on a double by Waller Parler, a single by Cam Burgess, a home run by Austin Hansmeyer, and an error in the first inning. The Monarchs struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Waccamaw, giving up 14 runs. Waccamaw got on the board in the first inning when Parler doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring three runs. Sam Goude earned the victory on the hill for Waccamaw. He allowed one hit and one run over two innings, striking out two and walking zero. Jack Diamond threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen. Chandler Evans took the loss for Manning. He surrendered nine runs on six hits over one-third of an inning, striking out one and walking one. Sandy Johnson went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead the Monarchs in hits. Waccamaw tallied 13 hits in the game. Parler, Burgess, Hansmeyer, Goude, and Will Bracket all managed multiple hits for Waccamaw.
