Clarendon School District 1 will conduct free vision, hearing, speech and developmental screenings as part of a child find effort to identify students ages 3-5, who may need special education services and are not enrolled in a public school. Three Clarendon County residents were named to the Fall 2018 President’s List at Clemson University.
The students include Manning residents Abigail Elizabeth Patrick, a psychology major; and William Capers Wannamaker IV, a computer engineering major; and Summerton resident Shiayra N. Ragin, a world cinema major.
To be named to the President’s List, a student must achieve a 4.0 (all As) GPA for the semester.

Manning native Nigel Kenyatta Johnson was recently named to the Fall 2018 Dean’s List at Newberry College.
To do so, Johnson, a communications major, had to achieve a GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0-scale during the semester. Johnson joins 378 other students who received Dean’s List honors for the fall semester.

The Clarendon County Sheriff’s Office is reaching out for the public’s help in locating a golf cart stolen in the late evening hours of March 3h
SHeriff Tim Baxley said in a post on social media that the 2017 red Polaris Razor Side-by-Side was taken from the 1100 block of Keels Road in the Pinewood area of Clarendon County.

The Laurence Manning Academy varsity baseball team completed a series sweep against Pinewood Prep on Saturday afternoon.
Aaron Carlton showed timely hitting, driving in five on three hits to lead the Swampcats past Pinewood Prep by a score of 11-1. Carlton drove in runs on a sacrifice fly in the first, a home run in the second,and a single in the sixth.

Despite allowing four runs in the fourth inning of its game against Pinewood Prep, the Laurence Manning Academy varsity baseball team defeated the Lowcountry school Friday by a final score of 9-5.
Trey Blume, Caleb Thompson, Noah Cadiz and Tyler Evans each had RBIs in the frame.
