OBITUARY: Keith C. Kirby

Mr. Keith C. Kirby, age 75, husband of the late Judith Laugherty Kirby, died on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at his residence after a brief illness.

Mr. Kirby was born in Cades, SC on March 20, 1943 to the late Luther W. and Ola Gowdy Kirby. He was retired and enjoyed the “Lake Life” with his dogs Spencer and Max.

Mr. Kirby is survived by his daughters, Karon K. (Wyman) Lowder, Sherri K. Floyd, Lisa K. Matthews, Debra K. (Chris) Cameron, Julie Coker, Kim Hampton, and Susie Holiday; grandchildren,  Megan L. (Ward) Powell, Whitney Amos, Joshua Matthews, Laura Matthews, Kyle (Katrina) Coker, Drew (Randi) Coker, and Eric Holiday-LeRay; great grandchildren, Emma Grace Amos, Heston Ward Powell, Luke Coker, and Brody Coker; sisters, Annis K. King and Janette K. Moore; two special nephews, Jimmy Taylor and Randy (Dana) Moore; and Jody R. (Elaine) Floyd who was like a son to him.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Kirby was preceded in death by brothers, J. Veignro Kirby and Ray M. Kirby; sister, Frances K. Taylor; and son-in-law, Mitch Hampton.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 9, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Carolina Funeral Home, 215 E. Highway 378 Bypass, Scranton, SC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to McLeod Hospice House or The Humane Society.
