OBITUARY: Deborah Lannette Birdsall

Deborah Lannette Birdsall, 53, wife of Mark Birdsall, died Friday, February 15, 2019, at McLeod Health Clarendon, the same day her grandmother died 31 years ago.

Born November 2, 1965, in Manning, she was a daughter of the late Frank Patton Howard and the late Missouri Elizabeth Lee “Dot” Van Zandt. She worked at Lake Marion Nursing Facility as a licensed practical nurse and was extremely compassionate about her patients.

She is survived by her husband of St. Petersburg, Florida; a daughter, Akira L. Birdsall of St. Petersburg, Florida; a sister, Donna Jean Hartfield (Bobby) of Summerton; two brothers, Donald P. Howard (Paula) of Cornwall, New York and Charles “Little” Van Zandt (April) of Clearwater, Florida; several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews; and numerous cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Patton Howard, Jr.; maternal grandmother, Annie Evangeline Mitchum; and maternal grandfather, Louis E. Lee.

A memorial dinner will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2019, at Williams-Burgess American Legion Post 68, 552 Sunset Drive, Manning.
