Rock Hill’s India Hook Elementary School’s staff re-routed the morning traffic so that bus riders, walkers, and car riders could walk together from the nearby neighborhood in their Pirate Parade. The Rock Hill Police Department directed traffic, while parents and staff volunteered to supervise the event. Some students said they want to do it everyday.
Scott’s Branch girls’ basketball team entered Thursday’s second-round Class A playoff matchup against Charleston Math & Science coming off a bye. After a slow start, the Eagles rolled past the visiting Lady Riptide with a 76-34 win.
Cambria Parker who was named 1A Player of the Year finished with 21 points, five assists and three steals. Mary Wimberly and Jazlyn Bowman finished with 17 points each. Bowman added five assists and six steals. Tonia Lawson finished with 10 points, five assists and five steals.
