An 18-wheeler pulled down cable and phone lines and caused the power lines to drop in the intersection of Keitt Street and S Mill Street a little after 9 a.m. According to Manning Fire Chief Mitch McElveen, the power lines are low enough, another 18-wheeler could snag them again, severing the remaining lines. Keitt Street has been blocked off has been blocked off from behind the fire station to the post office, according to McElveen, while repairs can be made. The power company is present at this time, working on the sagging power lines. Please watch for work trucks and workers as they repair these lines throughout the day.
